The concept of a principal has continued to evolve over time and is now used to refer to an individual or group of individuals who are responsible for making decisions and taking actions on behalf of a business.

Law of Principal and Agent

The law of principal and agent is a fundamental principle in business law that defines the relationship between a principal and an agent or representative. The principal is the individual or entity that is empowered to act on behalf of another. The agent, meanwhile, is the individual or entity employed by the principal to perform certain actions on their behalf, including making decisions and taking actions that are binding on the principal. In this essay, I will discuss how principals and agents work in a business law context in Utah, with special attention to relevant Utah case law and the Utah Code.
